Holiday fun

Lincoln's first Christmas, I am sure I say this a lot but where has the time gone?  We traveled to Idaho for Christmas, about 9 hours each way, which always turns into more because of a baby. But it is always worth it once we get there. Lincoln has started to hate his car seat, Jayce and I are wizards at changing and feeding in a car. Mommy will now plan trips started at naptimes.  We had a fabulous time. Lincoln got a fire truck to ride on and he will ride it all day everyday from firefighter grandpa.
Then we went to the firehouse and sat on grandpas
He played with Tank and Tank is a good babysitter. Lincoln ate in his high chair and would eat 1 cheerio and give tank five, it was really cute.
He got some quiet toys and some toys that Mommy and Daddy hide every once in awhile. But what parent doesn't! Grandpa and Grandma took Lincoln sledding for the first time and he was not a fan of being cold, but he loved going fast.
Grandpa and Daddy read Lincoln the night before Christmas because it is tradition!
Mommy and Daddy took a much needed nap while grandpa and grandpa spoiled Mr. Lincoln.  We had our first Christmas as a family of three, and it was the best one yet.

Lincolns 8 month check up went great, he is 14.8 pounds and 26 3/4 inches tall. Doctor says he is small but healthy and feed him more solids. He is a vegetable kid, not one he does not like. But give this kid some fruit and you will get funny faces and spit up. He does not take after me in this department. I would rather eat sweets and fruits.

For New years we traveled to Colorado. We had a wonderful dinner with friends. Lincoln went swimming in the hotel and did not want to get out. That was probably his favorite part. The next day we went shopping and spoiled ourselves. We went to the aquarium.  Halfway through the aquarium Jayce asked me the best question ever. I pointed out a shinny fish to Lincoln, and Jayce pipes up and said this one is shinier and had a shinny rock behind us on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course I said yes! Future Mrs Brood coming this fall! We will all have the same last name soon.
Our holidays were fabulous.  And now we are enjoying being engaged and parenting our 8 month old! Time does blink by when you are happy in love!
Hope your holidays were as fabulous as ours! XOXO Whitney
